The Neo-Black Movement of Africa Worldwide (NBM) has condemned the reported molestation of a female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra State.
As a Movement founded on the principles of justice, equity and the protection of human dignity, we consider this appalling incident not only an assault on the young Corps member but also a violation of the ideals of national service and the values we collectively uphold as a society.
Onyeka Ike, Esq. Public Relations Officer,
NBM of Africa Worldwide sais Legal Aid and Human Rights Team have been deployed to Anambra State to provide immediate support to the victim, pursue appropriate legal redress and ensure that justice is both diligently pursued and transparently delivered.
“We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to stand with the oppressed, protect the vulnerable, and collaborate with relevant authorities to ensure that the perpetrators of such heinous acts are held fully accountable under the law.
“The safety, dignity and wellbeing of our daughters, sisters and mothers must never be compromised. We therefore call on government agencies, security institutions, civil society organizations and all well-meaning Nigerians to unite in safeguarding our young people, particularly those who serve the nation with dedication through the NYSC scheme.
