NBM OF AFRICA WORLDWIDE DEVELOPMENTS IN JOS, PLATEAU STATE: A CALL FOR PEACE, UNITY AND NATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
The leadership and global membership of NBM of Africa Worldwide, a humanitarian organization internationally recognized for promoting peace, human dignity, social development, and responsible citizenship, wish to express profound concern over the recent developments in Jos, Plateau State. We are deeply saddened by reports of violence, loss of lives, and displacement of innocent citizens. Every life lost diminishes our shared humanity. At such critical moments in our national journey, restraint, empathy, and collective responsibility must prevail over anger, division, and retaliation.
NBM of Africa Worldwide firmly aligns with the Federal Government of Nigeria and all constitutionally mandated security agencies in their ongoing efforts to restore peace, protect lives and property, and uphold law and order. We respectfully urge all stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, religious institutions, and residents to embrace dialogue, lawful engagement, and peaceful coexistence as the only sustainable pathway to lasting stability. We commend the courage, professionalism, and sacrifices of Nigeria’s security agencies and peace-building institutions working tirelessly under difficult conditions to safeguard communities. Their commitment represents the enduring strength of our nation’s democratic and security architecture.
As a humanitarian movement built on discipline, service, and unity across ethnic, religious, and cultural boundaries, NBM of Africa Worldwide calls on its members nationwide and in the diaspora to act as ambassadors of peace, promoting calm, rejecting misinformation, and supporting lawful humanitarian interventions that alleviate suffering and encourage reconciliation. Nigeria’s diversity remains her greatest strength when guided by justice, mutual respect, and shared national purpose.
The events in Jos remind us that peace is a collective duty requiring vigilance, compassion, and responsible leadership at all levels of society. NBM of Africa Worldwide reiterates its unwavering commitment to partnering with government institutions, civil society organizations, and international stakeholders in advancing peace education, community engagement, and sustainable conflict prevention initiatives across Nigeria and beyond Let this moment not define us by conflict, but by our capacity for unity, healing, and national renewal. Peace is strength. Unity is security. Humanity is our shared identity.
