STEVE BIKO

• WHO WAS STEVE BIKO?
  Steve Biko was a South African anti-apartheid activist and thinker, born in 1946. He became one of the leading voices of the Black Consciousness Movement, which challenged racial oppression and sought to restore dignity and confidence among Black South Africans.
• HIS VISION OF BLACK CONSCIOUSNESS
  Biko believed that liberation required more than ending discriminatory laws. He emphasized psychological freedom, self-worth, cultural identity and the rejection of ideas that portrayed Black people as inferior.
