NBM DISPELS MISCONCEPTION, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO HUMANITARIAN SERVICE
The President of the NBM of Africa Worldwide, Dr. Charles Chimezie (Ph.D), has dispelled the misconceptions about the Pan-African and humanitarian organization, saying the Movement remains committed to fighting injustice, oppression and other societal vices while rendering humanitarian services to vulnerable members of society.
The President of NBM of Africa Worldwide, Abuja Region, Mr. Simple, who conveyed the message on behalf of Dr. Chimezie at the 2nd Abuja Regional Summit 2026, with the theme, “Building a Strong Pan-Africanism through Unity, Discipline and Service across the Continent,” said the strength of the Movement rested on the collective commitment and dedication of its members.
He expressed appreciation to members for their dedication, noting that despite the challenges that naturally accompany growth, the Abuja Region had continued to work towards ensuring peace, harmony and stability.
According to him, these achievements were not accidental but had been made possible through “resolve, understanding, tolerance, mutual respect and our shared commitment to the ideals that bind us together.”
He said the NBM was primarily established to provide humanitarian services and assist vulnerable people, stressing that the organisation also stood firmly against oppression, injustice and other vices in society.
He, however, regretted that some members of the public had misconstrued the Movement based on information they heard from outside, urging people to understand the organisation by its activities and humanitarian interventions.
On their part, members of the Movement’s Body of Founders (BOF) described the summit as timely and inspiring, saying it was aimed, among other objectives, at supporting government efforts to educate young people on the importance of living in a coordinated and peaceful environment devoid of crime.
They stressed the need for Africans to unite and work towards building a sovereign-like nation, noting that the NBM of Africa Worldwide remained fundamentally a Pan-Africanist Organization.
The Body of Founders further charged members to maintain discipline, uphold mutual respect and strictly adhere to the laws of the land, saying such values were essential to the Movement’s continued growth, credibility and contribution to society.
The summit, they added, provided an opportunity for members to renew their commitment to the ideals of unity, service and responsible citizenship.
A major highlight of the summit was a visit to the palace of the Traditional Ruler of Lugbe, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Etsu Lugbe, Danlami Cheta, where the NBM delegation paid a courtesy visit and interacted with the traditional institution.
In continuation of its humanitarian mandate, the Organization also donated bags of rice and other relief items to members of the Lugbe community, reinforcing its commitment to supporting vulnerable people and promoting peaceful coexistence.
The summit ended with renewed calls for unity, discipline, service and Pan-African solidarity, as the leadership and members reaffirmed their determination to use the Movement as a platform for humanitarian intervention, social responsibility and the promotion of peace and justice across the continent.
