Almamy Samore Lafiya Touré was a West African Muslim leader, military strategist and state builder, born around 1830 in present-day Guinea. He rose to power in the 19th century and built a powerful state across parts of present-day Guinea, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire and neighbouring regions.
