ON 16 October 1977, the Neo-Black Movement of Africa was founded at the University of Benin, Nigeria, as a Pan-African movement committed to the promotion and advancement of African culture, dignity and humanity.
From its beginning, the Movement was driven by a desire to confront oppression and social ills, promote African advancement and contribute positively to society. Its ideology of Neo-Blackism was rooted in the desire to liberate humanity from the shackles of oppression.
