“A Call for Peace: NBM Of Africa Warns Against Religious and Ethnic Division as Insecurity Grows.”
The Neo-Black Movement Of Africa, a global humanitarian and socio-cultural organization rooted in peace, justice, and human dignity, appeals to all Nigerians to remain calm and united as the nation confronts increasing security challenges.
NBM Of Africa reiterates that terrorism has no religion, no ethnicity, and no political identity. It is a threat to every citizen Christian, Muslim, traditionalist; North, South, East, West; rural and urban communities alike. Framing it as a religious or tribal confrontation is both dangerous and counterproductive.
Recent international comments, including those made by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, should not be interpreted as an attack on Islam or on any Nigerian community. Our country must rise above narratives that create fear or division among our people.
NBM Of Africa emphasizes that this moment calls for strategic national cooperation, responsible dialogue, and stronger partnerships with the global community. The Movement therefore encourages the Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to deepen collaboration with international allies including the United States especially in intelligence-sharing, counterterrorism technology, and humanitarian responses.
To our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria, the Movement reaffirms its deep respect for Islam as a religion of peace. The current situation is not a reflection of the faith, but a challenge posed by extremist elements who do not represent the values of any religion.
To all Nigerians, we appeal for:
Calm and restraint, Unity across tribe, belief, and region, Support for national security agencies, Rejection of misinformation and inflammatory narratives, Continued commitment to peaceful coexistence. This is a time for collective focus, not fear; unity, not division; and responsible leadership, not reckless emotion.
The Neo-Black Movement Of Africa remains committed to promoting peace, humanitarian service, and the protection of human life and dignity across the nation.
Together, we will overcome.
Signed,
Charles Chimezie (Ph.D)
